This is the second business opened by William Metzger. The first was a extremely successful bicycle shop which he sold. Metzger is credited with opening the first automobile dealership in Michigan and perhaps the US. He also spearheaded the first automobile show in the US. Metzger is also the M in the EMF company.
In earlier posts I have wondered if any Flanders twins were ever produced. Well here is the only known example. A reader of my blog pointed me in the right direction. Thanks! I wish more was known about these V-twin bikes. This bike was originally owned by a gentleman from Oxford Mich. He held onto it until 1978. Oxford is about 2 miles from where I live! The bike cost $210 new and makes 7-9 hp. It uses a Schebler carb and Splitdorf magneto.
