Road trip to the Wheels Through Time meseum.

Just got back last night from a trip down to Maggie Valley NC. My buddy Al and I left Detroit around 3:30pm on Friday and drove down just south of Lexington KY. The next morning we headed down to NC. The scenery is spectacular when you get into the mountains! We were pretty shocked to see a dead black bear on the side of the road just north of the NC border! Our primary objective was the Wheels Through time museum in Maggie Valley. What a awesome place. The museum is owned by Dale Walksler and is the most amazing collection of American made motorcycles. Dale and his son Matt were there greeting everyone that walked through the door. They would occasionally start one of the vintage machines. We were lucky enough to get some one on one time with Dale. He showed us around a bit, started a Detroit built Henderson for us and gave us a little tour of the shop out back. Super nice guy! The next day it was time for the long trip home. We decided to go through the mountains this time. What a spectacular place! We found ourselves laughing at the GPS with all of the crazy squiggly lines and misdirection it was giving. I would recommend this trip to anyone.
